Microcurrent and cellular metabolism – A demolition to the effect of HD2000+
The microcurrent is able to affect the cell metabolism we wrote in many places. But to what extent has this actually been proven? The HD2000+ from Luxxamed, is a developed and produced in Germany. As a successor to the microcurrent devices Clinic-Master [2000-2010], HD1000 [2011-2013], HD2000 and HD3000 [2013-2017], the HD2000+ represents an overall development from the experiences of more than 20 years and the intensive research on microcurrent therapy and LED light therapy .
The use of the HD2000+ microcurrent device and LED light therapy are the therapy of:
- Acute and chronic pain,
- As well as neurological complaints

For this reason, we would like to provide a brief demolition of the mode of action, taking into account study and research results. As far as we are aware, the HD2000+ is the only microcurrent device in Germany to Low, which meets the high standards of clinical evaluation under the Medical Devices Act as well as the Directive on Medical Devices 93/42/EEC.

Medical purpose of HD2000+
“The HD2000+ is a therapy device used by electrostimulation and photons in human patients with acute and/or chronic pain. In addition, HD2000+ can be used in neurological diseases.
The use of the HD2000+ can be up to 60 minutes and is used exclusively by professional and previously trained users such as doctors, naturopaths, physiotherapists or practice staff. ”
The development, production and quality control is similar to the requirements of the EN ISO 13485:2016 and has been certified by the TÜV Nord Cert.
The outstanding technique of HD2000+

As a doctor or therapist, the HD2000+ offers you a quick and flexible use in practice. Thanks to the innovative WIFI technology, the therapy can be operated easily and quickly via an Apple iPad . At the same time, the data is stored on the medical unit by an encryption concept in accordance with the EU GDPR.
Basis of the therapy – cell metabolism
The basis of the therapy with the Luxxamed HD2000+ microcurrent device is the influence of cellular metabolism. Schönfelder et al. (2017) showed in a vitro study of human cell cultures that a change in cell morphology can be seen. “This proves that the applied current – also the microcurrent of the HD2000+ – reaches the cells and is able to influence them. “ (Schönfelder, Walker & Kenner, 2017, p11)1
Membrane potential, protein synthesis and ATP production
In the therapy of cellular metabolism with microcurrent, there is an improvement in the cellular membrane potential, an increase in protein synthesis as well as ATP production. (CHENG et al., 1982, p. 3) 1
Luxxamed GmbH has commissioned studies at the Fraunhofer Institute for Plasma and Radiation Technology to obtain scientific and clinical evidence on HD2000+. The results of one of this study showed: … ” Increase in intracellular ATP concentration, significant increase in metabolic activity and cell vitality… ” (Karutz, 2012, II) 1
